Stuart Humphrey Construction Director for Coulson Building Group

I have been in the construction industry for 16 years. Starting out as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, in this short time I have witnessed a great deal of improvement within the industry. As we strive for continuous improvement it is nice to be able to be on the forefront and assist with bringing new ideas to life to help Coulson as a business and other member companies within EB Safety Group.

Why you decided to become a director

I have recently decided to join the board at EB Safety Group and I am currently settling into the process. Coulson Building Group is one of the founding members of EB Safety Group and as my role has evolved at Coulson's over the years there is a sense of company pride to continue to be a part of and help lead on H&S matters within construction.

What your role is in your own companies, and what your companies do…

My day to day role sees me head up our team on the construction delivery side of the business ensuring we deliver on time, quality and within budget. This role also sees me take charge of SHEQ related matters within the company as a whole.

What drives you?

Construction is my passion. I love to be involved and witness all types of building projects from new builds incorporating different types of construction methods like traditional brick and block, timber frame, SIPS, steel frame, concrete frame and modular to refurbishments and conversions. There is nothing nicer than seeing a building brought back to life and evolving into the modern world.
